"Just to say a huge thanks to Marie for her wonderful job of interpreting in Manchester Cathedral at the North West Air Ambulance Christmas Carol Service, celebrating their 15th Anniversary, hosted by Pete Waterman. The night was a very demanding one, with lots of speeches, and Manchester Airport choir singing. Marie signed all their songs, and all the speeches and did a wonderful job’ it made such a difference to the Deaf members in our own BSL choir. Once again many thanks Marie" Ann Hesketh, Director of Dee Sign Choir (2014)
"I met Marie when she was a student at University, at first I assumed she was Deaf until I realised she was Hearing. She has developed over the years, working with me as a PCA (Personal Communication Assistant), via ATW (Access to Work), and as a freelance/trainee interpreter. I have watched her journey to become a qualified interpreter, setting up as her own business - "Dimond Hands" at a young age, showing she has lots of potential for the future. Whilst working with me in iSLanDs she demonstrated awareness of the background of the international world, understanding my work, as well as experience in international sign language due to her student exchange in Finland and world travel." Claire Perdomo, Administration Assistant: iSLanDS (2013)
"I'm happy with the service provided, since 2009, I can understand Marie very well. She is most helpful. An excellent service." Peter Shannon: Joiner/Builder (2013)
"Marie has been a regular interpreter for our Deaf and hearing drama group for 2 years. As we run drama sessions it is very important that interpreters understand how to be professional and fairly relaxed at the same time, whilst not being afraid to get involved. Marie has an excellent understanding of her role in our drama group. She provides excellent and smooth communication, which can sometimes be difficult to achieve as we have a wide range of Deaf people and also hearing people who can't sign. Marie is 100% reliable, always pleasant and doesn't mind helping out with other tasks if she's not needed to interpret. I don't think our drama group wouldn't be so successful without Marie." Angela Twigg, Project Coordinator :InteGreat Theatre (2012)
"I have known Marie as a professional colleague since February 2012. From the outset I have found her to be a hard working dedicated person who remains professional at all times. Her knowledge of the Deaf community and interpreting is excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Marie to work for anyone." Ray Williams, BSL Interpreter: Ray Williams Interpreting Services (2012)
"Over the past eight years I have come to know Marie in both a social and professional capacity. In terms of definable character attributes Marie has always had a strong sense of commitment and dedication to all that she does. Having worked with Marie in the past I have had first-hand experience of the level of commitment she brings to each and every assignment. Upon receiving preparation for particular interpreting jobs I understand Marie to be diligent in her efforts to research, conceptualise and thus fully understand the subject matter thereby guaranteeing a smoother interpretation. " Mark Hetherington, Registered Sign Language Interpreter: PGDip British Sign Language and Interpreting Studies (2013)
