Marie Dimond is a Hearing Individual with Deaf Parents, more commonly known as a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), would be considered a bi-lingual and bi-cultural individual. It is this life experience that lead her to study Deaf Studies at University, and towards the end of her degree, to decide upon becoming a BSL (British Sign Language) Interpreter.
She registered, in January 2009, as a Junior Trainee Interpreter (JTI). Upon completion of the Post Graduate Diploma Interpreting BSL:English in 2010 she became a Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) with the National Register of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD).
Marie has worked in a variety of situations involving interaction with the general public and in specialist areas such as with D/deaf people with additional communication needs. An outgoing, confident, friendly and approachable person. She has excellent communication skills and is able to adapt her communication to suit the environment and/or client.
